The 37th Annual Desert Classic Area 2 Championship at Rio Salado Sportsman's Club was the greatest match of 2024.  We paid homage and celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the TV Series Miami Vice. We hope you had as much fun shooting as we did putting it together. Match date: November 6 - 10, 2024  + 15 stages plus Chrono 

The 10th Annual Desert Flower Ladies Day at The Range was held on October 19th. This annual event teaches women about firearm safety and proper shooting techniques. Women brought their girlfriends, co-workers, and family members to learn from Debbie Keehart and Kippi Leathum of "Her-Handgun" and their team of knowledgeable volunteers. The nominal fee includes training time with a shotgun, rifle, and a variety of pistols.

The 5th Annual Red Oktober: Cold War 2024 action rifle match was held at Rio Salado Sportsman's Club October 4-6. The match brings competitors nationwide to shoot using "Cold War-era historically themed weaponry."

33rd Annual Spring Steel: April 20-21, 2024, Hosted by the Rio Salado Tuesday Night Steel Division - The match consisted of 10 stages with an approximate round count of 300. Overall Match Sponsors: CZ Custom, Holosun, Kahr Arms, Hunters HD Gold, Vudoo Gun Works and Voodoo Tactical

Battle of the Best

Our Desert Flower Ladies Day is an annual event that includes an introductory lecture on safety, gun nomenclature, and basic techniques before heading out to the range for some live fire with our awesome lady volunteers/instructors. Ladies' Day includes pistol, shotgun, and rifle.

Rio Salado hosted the "Red Oktober Cold War" AK rifle match from September 30th - October 1st.

This is one of the best AK-only matches in the US. Competitors completed the whole match on either Saturday or Sunday, with staff shooting on Friday.

The 21st annual WSSSC was held February 23-26 at Rio Salado Sportsman's Club.

2022 Left Out Match, a USPSA match hosted in Havasu Az happens the third week of November each year. This year we had a squad of 17 shoots, 7 of which were from out weekly local matches.

October 22, 2022: "Ladies Day at the Range" is designed to give women an opportunity to learn about firearm safety and proper shooting techniques. Women had the chance to use a variety of semi-automatic pistols, revolvers, shotguns, and rifles under the supervision of knowledgeable Rio Salado volunteers.

October 2022 - Level 1 USPSA competition consisting of 5 different courses of fire. There were various practical shooting scenarios and a USPSA classifier stage.

The Tactical Games were created to provide a platform to test the skills and readiness of tactical athletes of all backgrounds.
